Practice Focus:

  • Estate Planning
  • Guardianships
  • Elder Law

Ms. LaBadie is an associate whose practice helps clients achieve peace of mind about the future by assisting them in developing a comprehensive estate plan.  She has experience helping clients avoid the costly probate process with living trusts, state their wishes for their property with wills, and, most importantly, avoid guardianships with advance directives.

Ms. LaBadie also has experience with Medicaid planning and assisting spouses and parents of special needs individuals who receive government benefits.  She is also the firm's Community Outreach Director.  This program allows the firm to continue its tradition of Community Service.  In this capacity, she has given over 50 seminars. The program continues to offer free seminars on a variety of topics, including estate planning, advance directives, Medicaid, and legal documents and issues faced when caring for elderly relatives.  These seminars are sometimes sponsored by the firm at a local banquet hall, but are more often sponsored by a local community group or business. She has had the pleasure of speaking to a variety of mom's groups, at meetings of local community groups, at Parks and Recreation Departments, on behalf of a wellness program at a local university, and at local banks.  Please visit the Community Outreach portion of the website for more information about scheduling a seminar for your business or community group.

Ms. LaBadie was born in Hammond on April 11, 1979 at St. Margaret's Hospital.  She attended Highland Public Schools and graduated from Highland High in 1997.  She continued her education at Purdue University, graduating with Bachelor's Degrees in English Literature and Communication in 2001, and a Master's Degree in Communication in 2003.  She taught public speaking to Purdue undergraduates while working on her Master's Degree.  She continues to root for the Boilermakers even though Ms. LaBadie received her law degree from Indiana University at Indianapolis in 2006.  She is admitted to the State Bar of Indiana and the United States District Court, Northern District of Indiana, and is a member of both the State Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Association.

Ms. LaBadie lives in Griffith, Indiana with her husband, Chris, and their children, Claire and Jacob.  She is also active in her church and community, leading her daughter's Girl Scout Troop and volunteering for her son's basketball and soccer teams.  In her free time, she enjoys cooking for her family and sewing.
